As of today, my debt is almost my exact age. In that I am 39 years 4 months 27 days old, and I owe $39,322.42. But today I hit a milestone, a source of celebration, because I paid off the last $217.24 of my high-interest Discover card. I tweeted it out and tagged @discover and within a minute they wrote me back and congratulated me. I suppose that's to make you feel good about Discover in case you pick up that card again. I do not want to use that card again. I was fooled with their cash back promotions
I'll check my balances again on Monday to see that total balance should be under $39K. #babysteps
So I'd like to have all this old credit card and student loan debt paid off by the time I turn 43. That gives me a generous 3 1/2 years, or until March 21, 2022. I'll break down what I owe where next.
